Abby & More: Crockpot Beef Stew

Crockpots are amazing!

All you have to do is add the ingredients called for and let them sit on low heat throughout the day.

This allows you to go to work and come home to an easily prepared and ready enjoy meal.

A great crockpot recipe to try is beef stew.

Ingredients include:

  • 2 packages of dry onion soup mix
  • 1/2 teaspoon of paprika
  • 2 pounds of lean beef stew meat cut up into small pieces
  • 5 potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 2 to 3 cups of baby carrots
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 cans of cream of celery soup
  • 1 cup of ketchup

For this crockpot dish, take a large plastic bag and fill with the meat, dry onion soup mix and paprika. Once all ingredients are added to the bag, shake to ensure the meat is completely coated with the seasonings. Afterwards, grease the crockpot and spread the meat evenly on the bottom of the dish.

Next, top the seasoned meat with the diced veggies.

Following this step, mix the cream of celery soup and ketchup in a small bowl off to the side. Pour the mixture over the seasoned meat and vegetables in the crockpot.

Finally, cover the crockpot with the lid and set on low heat until the meat is cooked thoroughly and the veggies are tender. Stir before serving.
